Natureculture:Wellington

Natureculture:Wellington is a collective ethnographic Atlas was created by students in VUW’s Environmental Anthropology class in 2018.

Students were asked to observe and document a natureculture within the city of Wellington. Once they did so, they wrote a long form essay and a short summary that was to be included in the Atlas. The atlas was built with opensource storytelling tools created by Knight Lab based at Northwestern University, USA.

The atlas offers an example of how collective ethnographic storytelling can be incorporated into anthropological pedagogy. It also stands alone as an open access resource for people wishing to rediscover Wellington through its spaces of natureculture entanglement. Please visit the our Atlas here
